20 foods for reversing type-2

Interesting that yet again blueberries get a mention, the more I read about their health promoting benefits the more convinced I am that I did the right thing by introducing them into my diet on a daily bases. My Opthamologist told me a few years back to choose dark coloured fruit and vegetables to help promote eye health and general well-being, he particularly mentioned blueberries!

Blueberry plants are fairly easy to grow in either pots or soil. They are hardy and require very little attention as long as they are grown in peat or wood bark chippings.

I have a blueberry bush in a largish pot outside my back door and it's lovely to be able to go and pick some at this time of year.

I am also eating a fair amount of blackberries too as they are easy to find growing.

We have blackberries growing wild in the garden and a good crop of blackcurrants this year. Mixing em offsets the slightly bitter taste of the latter.
also, all these fruits don't come cheap... and go off fairly quick.
I have em with porridge n yoghurt as an alternative pud or brekkie.

It's worth going out and gathering blackberries and freezing them if you can find lots . We've actually got some decent ones in the hedgerows this year, its normally far too hot and dry for them to develop to a size worth eating. (today it is cold, foggy and wet :( )
I also buy mixed frozen red fruits for use on my breakfast, much better and much cheaper than out of season berries.

"fruits for use on my breakfast"?
Maybe you mean porridge or cereals?
I have a little porridge several times a week, a fry up today tho. Tho the porridge ups my BG I reckon the ant cholesterol makes it worth it...and it is easy to make.
This is the moot point. People are always too rushed to venture out and gather, wash etc. Let alone prepare a proper brekkie. Would be nice if the supermarkets provided us with suitable easy meals that are not over priced ****. Fat chance.
Annoyingly our eating apples are very few this year so will have to retrieve some frozen ones from last year.
ATB from UK was sunny yesterday... not sure today.

you say porridge ups your bg...i didn't know it would do that...i have it most mornings....thinking it was healthy...i know it's good for reducing cholesterol....thanks for the info...
