I was diagnosed with diabetes 3 weeks ago during a urine test for a UTI. The weird thing is they aren't sure what type I am.
I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and I am overweight well obese (in terms of bmi). Knowing all of this I myself was assuming that I am type 2. However going to the nurse she wants to run further tests with a specialist because she says because of my age I might be type 1. Keeping in my mind that no one on my family has type 1 diabetes and people who have developed diabetes in older age were all type 2 diabetics.
I am on metformen and blood fasting sugars were 7.1 in the first and 6.5 in the second.

Always worth getting your diabetes type pinned down as it helps to ensure that you get the right treatment. It's not as weird as you suggest.

Is there anything that forum members can help you with right now?
 
Thanks, me just being new to it I thought that was a less of an occurrence
