2020/21 Football Season.



The Oystens didn't invade the pitch the Blackpool fans did.
 
The Premier League has confirmed that all 380 fixtures for the 2021/22 season will be released on Wednesday, June 16 at 9am.

1 week to go and we'll know who plays who and when.
 
A trip to the West Country for our lads. We face Bristol City. Hopefully drag 3 points back up the M5.
I notice there's a lot of cancelled games which I'm assuming is to do with Covid. Stay safe everyone and if your team is playing I hope they win.

Looking through the fixtures in Scotland I was struck by how many games have been postponed...

none.

At least when I looked earlier this morning, may have changed since then.
DUFC going to get huned by the Rangers. We're not scoring many goals....

Yeah, covid has decimated the fixtures mate, my lot are still playing, but meetings on Monday to see if the footie is going to take a break or not.

My own personal opinion having been close to pros, is the macho dressing room factor, cos they are close to each other and the so called banter which is a huge part of the team ethic. I am certainly not surprised, and those already been effected will be reticent, for the same reasons. There is the thought that because of their fitness, they will not have a severe case of covid if they catch it.
 


Us south of the border, do not meet with the resilience of the Scots.
Do you expect anything different from the English, it's not covid it's the cold!

Went for a walk before lunch, could hardly see across the road, the fog is so thick.... and, as reported above, it is cold.
Be rather running around than watching on a day like this.

3 games abandoned so far this afternoon in Scotland.
Yeah, the gers should take the points now.

Don't know how but we are winning as well. So are the udders.
 
After going 1 down after 2 mins we pulled back to win 2-3. Puts us back in 10th place and just 2 points outside the play off zone. Trouble is there's a few teams with matches in hand. Oh well our next game is Home to Blackpool on Boxing day. have a nice Christmas everyone and above all stay safe.
 
We won by the only highlight in the refrigerator out there.

After four consecutive winning league results and of course covid postponements we are now in fifth. Just shaking my head cos I just don't believe that was possible with the poor squad we have. Hopefully January will be productive.

So, a predictable result at Elland Road yesterday. Leeds 1 Arsenal 4. Struggled with some of the Arsenal chants.

Found out another plus point for masks. It's possible to be amidst a few thousand Gooners, yet sing Marching on Together with the Leeds fans if you are wearing a mask.

There were plenty of stewards checking covid passes but we had to wait 45 mins while they found a sniffer dog before they would let us in.
Don't know why they bothered, yet again the dog failed to detect that flares were being taken in.
 

Mrs Hj was a regular at Elland Road in the 70's so we're feeling the pain at the moment... and keeping our fingers crossed.

I never got there in the 70s, having to make do with seeing Leeds play at Villa Park and St. Andrews.

I felt very old on Saturday when we realised that Frankie Gray's grandson was on the bench. I remember when Frankie was young lol

This would suggest there are two, and one took over from another.... missed that entirely....
It's good to talk though.
