3 monthly check advice please

hiya all. iv just been to my 3 monthly check up (have been type 2 for past 7 yrs). my 3monthly blood readings are 8.3. the nurse is quite concerned as they are going up every visit. does anyone know what they should be? i am on the max slow realease metformin, the doc is gonna ring me in the next few days and i am worried i may end up on injections as my job would be in jeopardy then ... thanks

that sounds like your hba1c,if so its too high,under 7 is where we aim to be,the lower the better,i guess they may change your meds,it isnt forced to be insulin,so try not to worry just yet ;)

A Hba1c of 7% or under is usually ok with the doctors. 6.5% is considered good.
If you can get it below this figure, then you earn the right to come back
on the forum and go on and on about it for as long as you like. :D
