Thanks for the reply. I have ordered a meter, which hopefully will be with me in a day or so. Interestingly, my doctor, who I think is excellent in a number of ways, was against testing, unless you are taking drugs that may cause hypos. His view, which he said was supported by research, was that HbAC1 levels were the best guideline to 'poor outcomes', rather than constant testing.
He was fine that I disagreed with this, and said he would be happy to prescribe a meter and strips if I go onto different drugs in the future. As I mentioned, he was fine with low carbing, knew and liked this website, and supported my views on drugs that stimulate the pancreas. He is just against daily testing for T2's.
I just feel some relief today that what I am doing is having an effect, I just need to do more!
