just had to have some sugar jelly sweets i felt odd and wobbly at a reading of 4.3 ...i felt it coming on then did my reading and it was 4.3, i have had worse ones in the past but never felt weird at 4.3 ?

Hi and welcome to the forum @markbsac . Lowish blood sugars can make you feel dreadful. At 4.3 it is not classed as a hypo, but if your blood sugars have been running high, then a drop to 4.3 may make you feel a bit queazy. If you don’t mind me asking, what meds are you on ? And are you on any particular diet ? Of course, not everything can be diabetes related, so blood pressure and hydration can impact you too.
I hope you are feeling a bit better.

Allowing for meter accuracy you could have been in near hypo territory, also you could have been lower before the test and your liver did its job and dumped some glucose and you were in your way back up. It’s not an exact science sometimes I feel ropey & starving and check and I’m in the very low 4s, sometimes I’m feeling absolutely fine and doing a routine test before I eat and get mid to high 3s but don’t feel hypo.

Not feeling good is awful, the important thing is not to “over treat” and send your BG to far the other way.

hi there thanks im on metformin 2k milligrams a day, atorvastatin and lisinoprol...i have been in 3s a couple of times but as i say i do feel it coming on so i know the symptoms and do something about it quick...i have been type 2 for 15 months and i was told by my nurse at my annual check i am now classed as pre diabetic...but i think once diabetic always diabetic...i keep a close eye on everything inc my diet.

I too have lows @markbsac . I’ve been in the high 1’s with all the low blood sugar symptoms, so I feel for you. I do have unstable blood sugars, I had those before The meds. My dr did tell me if you drop down into the mid 3’s it is nothing to worry about especially if you are producing insulin and your liver can correct the low. I also read that even none diabetics can dip into the mid to high 3’s .

Congratulations on bringing down your blood sugars, that’s a great result whether it’s with meds or by diet.

My blood sugar level is 4.6 down from 8.9. I am type 2 diabetic. I am on two metformin daily each 500 mg. Last week on a morning I was talking to someone whist waiting for the bus and I felt myself having a turn. I did not tell the person I was talking to that I was suddenly feeling peculiar. When I got off the bus I went to the nearest shop to get some jelly babies. They did not have any so I bought some sweets instead and ate some quickly. After about half an hour I started to feel better. I wonder if it was a hypo as I’ve not experienced this before. In future I will carry some jelly babies in my handbag.
