You might want to give some more information including what Type you are and what medications you are on, if you are Type 2 on no glucose lowering meds it is perfectly fine

Your body will self-regulate. Only if you are taking insulin, on medication are you at risk of it going a bit too low.

No. That's only for diabetics on insulin or certain medication. For non diabetics it's perfectly normal to drop to 3.5 or such occasionally, your liver will keep you from danger, don't worry about it.
