wondering if any type 1's are doing the 5:2 fast diet, my sister does it and so does my dad with good results and i like the sound of the health benefits from it but unsure if its a good idea with type 1. i assume i would keep my long acting insulin the same and just inject my short acting at the required amount for any carbs eaten
I do the 7:2. I am 54 years old and long term type 1 and actually a healthy one. As an older lady I don't need 2000 calories anymore but have 1500 on a normal day. On the 2 balance days I stick to 1100 or 1200. Works perfect and keeps the unwanted handles away over your trousers
