Hi, I was after a bit of advice and input. Over the last year I have had a few episodes of light headedness, 1 or 2 episodes of blurry vision and just general fatigue. I have had HBA1C test and it was 32 (most recent last year) and 34 when these episodes were happening. Also, non fasting blood glucose tests taken alongside other bloods of 4.7, 4.9 and a high of 5.9, which was three weeks ago. However, I haven't had a fasting blood test. I am pregnant now (only 16 weeks) and the tiredness and fatigue has obviously carried on into pregnancy. I have been checking my BP, which has ranged from 96/60 to 119/80 which is all normal. I had eventually decided to track my blood with a strip monitor. Have had readings over the last week a 2 hours after food of 5.6, 6.1, 7.1, 6.5 and highest reading has been 7.5 2 hours after a small steak and salad and yogurt and a tiny bit of rice. Do you think these indicate pre diabetes? I am just concerned that after 2 hours my levels are still in their 7's sometimes after dinner. I have read that ideally the numbers should drop down to your overnight fasting levels after 2 hours from eating. I will be discussing it with my doctor, however, she isn't veru helpful, I have had these symptoms for a year on and off and I can only think it is my blood sugars and have finally decided to check for myself at home. I do get varying readings sometimes, for example, I had 5.1, 6.1, and 7.3 on 1 evening from the same hand. Not sure what to make of that either. I am really stressed about this because it has suddenly clicked that my diet has been high carb since pregnancy and I feel so drowsy after eating and get a dry mouth so I may have diabetes. I lost a baby 3 years ago, and I am trying my best to be healthy now but have no energy to cook properly. Any input on those numbers would be helpful. This forum has been more useful than my GP in terms if lesrning about carbs and diet control, etc. Definitely will be putting into practice some of what I have learnt. Thank you for reading this far, I know it's been bit long.
