5 in two weeks!!!

This is a difficult one. The best person to get advice from is your GP. However the GP is governed by confidentiality rules so may not be able to discuss it with you without your husband being present ?

This is certainly not a good situation and needs to be addressed promptly. One way or the other.

Don't panic!
I know that there have been problems but according to my calculations he should need to get a new prescription: if his usual dose is 20 units, 4 times a day .
20 units, 4 times a day is 80 units (though why 4?, most of us normally have only 3 main meals, this is a possible problem)
80 x14 =1120units
5 pens = 5x300 =1500 units
1500-1120= 380units
He may also lose some insulin with an air dose at each injection.
So he would be down to his last pen and should get a refill in case of mafunction of the only pen.

(added, I think that they all contain 300u so that's what I've used, at 250u he would be clearly into the last pen)

Phoenix got the sums right, but also, If there's not enough left in he pen for a full dose, He might be discarding that pen and starting another one rather than having that dose in installments. T1 husband does this,although he has refillable pens and vials.
I've just asked him and he says he wouldn't do 2 injections for one dose.
that means that a 250unit pen contains 12 doses

If he's not eating, and as I suspect not testing, then he isn't using insulin appropriately. It's when and why you take insulin that is important.
Is it possible to persuade him to see a specialist, rather than a GP?... he's obviously worried himself from his previous posts.
From previous posts, he is taking large doses of insulin with alcohol. This, not the overall cumulative amount is what poses the short term danger.

I know I am probably way off the mark but does he go to any gyms?

Reason I ask is because when people at my gym found out I was diabetic I had a number of people asking to buy novo rapid off me!! (Bodybuilders use it along with growth hormone to get huge apparantly!)

Maybe he's saving up for a lovely Xmas gift for you!
