Look, there's no denying that's not a good hba1c. Having said that, insulin dependent T1s used to have babies before glucometers were available (I'm the T1 daughter of a T1 mother and I was born in 1962). Pregnancies go wrong for all sorts of reasons (not just diabetes), so there's no point in beating yourself up about something in the past that can't be changed. If it doesn't work out then you shouldn't assume that it's automatically because of the hba1c,

Most important: see your team now. You'll need to get those levels down and they are the ones to help. You won't be the first high hba1cer that they've seen, and you won't be the last. They have the experience to tell you what your chances are here, and the tests to see what is going on.

I assume she's T2, as that's in the post title. (It took me a while to work it out, as well.)
