A couple of questions

My first question on the forum there were 5 replies one of which was Synonym, I replied to him but pressed the wrong button & lost it, could not get it back, so the 2nd time I tried I thought it was best to save it first then send but I don't know how to retrieve the saved response so that I can send it on. I am not computer literate so it all seems confusing. Synonym suggested I contact Ken or Sue, Forum Monitors but again I do not know how to contact them. What do I do?

2nd Question, does anyone know anything about type 1.5 diabetes, I do not have any symptoms of diabetes yet I am diagnosed type2 with diet only treatment. Dietician had no advice as I already have a healthy lifestyle both diet & activity, the only thing is my cholesterol is 6.7 & she suggested Benecol & flora-Activ drinks (too sweet for me) Came across Type 1.5 on this website & the readings describe exactly my situation. I am in limbo as I don't know what to do to ensure my blood sugar (slightly raised at present, hence the diagnosis) does not go up.
Anyone with suggestions?

Hello again jayemm

Posting on here does take a bit of getting used to and I still get it wrong - but it will come with practice I am told!

A healthy diet is one thing but a healthy diet suitable for someone with diabetes is quite another thing altogether; you will probably find that you have to change things a fair bit.

The information I suggested you look out for is quoted below so have a good read and if there is anything else you need to know ask away.

I too saved a draft reply and wasn't able to load it again. There doesn't seem to be anything to click on after you've pressed load. Nothing happens when you click on load draft. Could a computer expert tell us what to do? Thanks a lot

thank you for your replies, an update on my 'problem' today I phoned my local hospital to find out about seeing a diabetes nurse at the diabetic clinic only to be told that I wouldn't see anyone as my treatment is by diet only but should my condition become a problem & I needed medication then I could be referred to the clinic. I was amazed as I wanted someone with experience to talk to & explain the meaning of hcla, mols, etc & of course the diet & carbohydrates etc. So No Help there from the specialists, which is why I am greatful & appreciate your help & replies.

another question, has anyone heard of or had an email from a Daniel Crockett (@sidelines.co.uk)
he was asking for my username & was I still having problems logging on.
I have sent a copy of the email to Admin & they have never heard of him but it would be interesting to find out if anybody else has had any contact from him.
Is he genuine or not, needless to say I did not reply.
Thank again.

There is always help on here! 8) We are living it so we know how important it is to have support and advice available!

By type 1.5 I think they mean type 1 that occurs in adults, I not sure why they don't just say type 1. NHS and NICE call it type 1. You'll find out if you do have it if diet and tablets stop working. I'd imagine you don't as diet is working. Not worth worrying about anyway as diet is working.

Hi Jayemm, I'm surprised admin has not heard of him, Dan until recently was the Administrator on this site. The one thing I'm not sure about is that e-mail address you provided, I have 2 for him one at dancrockett@sitefinders.co.uk (the owners of this site) and dan@diabetes.co.uk. Your wise to be wary about the e-mail, but if you contact him at sitefinders he will be able to confirm whether or not it was genuine.

Regards
Graham

Firstly, the answers to most questions can be found in the FAQ section of the Forum, here is a link to the section regarding saved posts and retrieving:

If you are still having difficulty after reading them then contact the Forum Monitor's cugila (Ken) or sugarless sue (Sue) via the pm system. Just click on the name in one of our posts, or we are also listed under Forum Monitors, you can contact Admin but it is easier and more direct if your questions are put to us, as we deal with things on a daily basis. Admin usually only are involved if it is something we are unable to deal with.

As for the spurious e-mail to Daniel Crockett (@sidelines.co.uk) this is NOT our Dan Crockett.

Admin, Dan Crocket of Diabetes.co.uk does exist here. This other e-mail address has been noted and all members should be aware that they should only use dan@sitefinders.co.uk OR dancrockett@sitefinders.co.uk These are the only addresses to use.
