Well, my low-carb journey continues. Lots of positive comments about my ever shrinking frame, but I hid a dirty secret.
One week saw me loose 8lbs. Very unusual, so far it's been a steady 3lbs a week and I was surprised. Then nothing, nada, nix for 4 weeks. Not an ounce lost. I was sure nothing had changed and was bemused as to how I can remain 16st 4lbs on the diet I was (am) on. A serious think later and I realised peanuts had appeared in my life. I had also been a bit lax in the regularity of my one-a-day metformin habit.
So, the peanuts went and the metformin was placed under control and hey presto, 5 days later, I've just crashed through the 16st barrier down to 15st 13lbs. (doin' a dance!).
Through all of this, my BS were stable in the 5's even with the peanut consumption.
So tonight, as a celebration, I had the biggest lump of steak I could find. As a dear friend once said,
"a good vet would get that up and running again"
