Folks,

a bit off the beaten track and a sensitive issue, I debated whether to post but here goes!!

About 3 years ago, I met (unintentionally!!) a very unsavoury chap in a pub in Birmingham. Without boring you with the details, I let him know what I thought of him and he retorted by spiking my drink. (It's a long story). Unfortunately I eventually alighted a train at a station miles away from my home presumably alone and passed out. I left the pub at approx 10:30 and arrived home at approx 4 in the morning.

I have very little memory of how I got home. I did not drink much.
I recently read an article on the perils of date rape drugs and the fact that they can cause organ failure!!.
Just wandered if this incident could have seen off my pancreas?? (I think you know where I am coming from)???

Regards Steve.

Not sure about your Pancreas Steve....? We have no idea what was put into your drink.

It does show the perils of drinking with someone you don't know. Usually this sort of thing happens to young girls, with disastrous consequences ! It does happen to Males too, again similar consequences.
I have seen it Steve.

Let's hope there is no lasting damage from whatever it was. You could always relate this to your GP and see if he will give you a blood test etc to put your mind at rest.

I was going to joke about if it wasnt this incident which caused my condition, it must have been my excessive consumption then!, but the wider subject is quite serious. My only consolation is that I believe that the initial intended target was some poor young lass, so if I prevented something more serious, then I am glad it turned out as it did!.
