i told my doctor for years about metformin how it made feel bad when i went out for a meal with friends now i'm on this new drug one tablet a day and i feel great plus insulin

Hello @ZESTRIL - How are you today:). I have taken Metformin now for almost 16 years. Been on Insulin for 3 years as well. (Have been Type 2 for 17 years in April)
I take Metformin 4 x 500mg a day of the Standard Metformin - I did try the Slow Release Metformin and that gave me terrible pains across my Abdomen. But apart from occasional bouts of constipation that's all I get with the standard Metformin, but some people really do suffer with it.
I had been tried on an assortment of other Medications for Diabetes before going on Insulin.
What's this 1 a day drug you take now called ?

well it gave diarrhoea for 20 years i couldn't eat porridge or fruit if i went out ii had to take imodium tablets if i didnt i dont need to tell the rest i did go on the slow release ones but they was just the same if not worse
