I am a long term lurker here and sometimes poster!
I just wanted to share a positive experience I have had with my Diabetic Consultant at (Hospital name removed) Hospital... Having been moved off mixtard 30 when it was discontinued onto a Levimir / NovoRapid regime I have struggled continuously with a monstrous DP problem and poorer control (HBA1c's dropping to high 6's low 7's when I have had sub 5's on the mixtard)..
Anyway after getting no where with my GP again I made an appointment to see the consultant at the hospital and after running through my rather meticulousness graphs and record keeping I explained how I thought a move to an Insulatard / NovoRapid regime would much better suit me... having had my GP been derisory about the idea I expected the same from the consultant but he was positivity up for it and went through the numbers with me to help fine tune my change over..
A few days into my new regime and no DP problem and average blood glucose readings of around 4.9 mmol/l I am once again a very happy type 1 and feeling so much better in the mornings..
