A question about foods for breakfasts while fishing please

Hi all,
I am fairly newly diagnosed with what I believe to be type 2 but now needing Insulin, since February this year, so I am still getting used to it all.
I am a carp angler who goes fishing for anything up to 7 days, my question is that is there anything I can take to eat for breakfast's that does not include ingredients that may go off if it gets hot, although I have a cool bag it will only keep items cool for a few days, even with 5 or 6 cool blocks.

I usual take fruit like Apples and Banana's and I can cook food, but I do not eat eggs so that puts things like omelets out the question!

Sadly I rarely go fishing any more due to COPD and arthritis but was a very keen carper since the early eighties right up till a couple of years ago when I just found it too hard on my back and respiratory system

Hi Sid,
I go to a lake just outside Diss, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, Called Airfield Lakes.
It is my main lake I fish this season and now and again, when the wife allows me!! lol, I can go for 5 or 6 days at a time, but I usually go for 3 days every fortnight.
The last time I went it was so hot that on the second day the dishes i took had turned, Curry and bolognese,the milk was more like cream

My Dad suffers from COPD and I know how it effects him, so yeah trying to get all the gear round the lake would really be hard and painful work for you. I suffer from mild osteoarthritis but till it gets too bad I wont give up, I am far too stubborn! lol

I like the canned meat/fish idea. How about going continental and having salami and sliced cooked meats with sliced cheese. Have it with your fruit. It would all need to be kept cool though. I'd invest in a really good cooler.

I like the idea of the meat and fish, but like you say it would need to be kept cool and there lays the problem.
To get a decent cooler they are hard to carry to the lake, especially when we only use what we call a barrow to transport our equipment to our chosen spot which in some cases could be some distance over rough terrain, that is why I try to keep the weight down to a minimum and to get all my gear to my spot in one go,I know this sounds as I am being fussy, but I am not.

I could I suppose take things like tin Mackerel or Sardines which I could heat up on my single ring stove
