and I'm coming through the other side of "carb flu" what an experience that was...

I was officially diagnosed on Friday 13th March 15, same day someone reversed into my parked car and done a runner, I'll not forget that day in a hurry, anyway I'm trying the low carb/full fat lifestyle, and my BG levels, despite a few wee blips, are much around 7mmol/l ish. I've had one high of 11.3 and a low of 5.3, so I'm starting to figure out what I can and can't eat, and in which quantities.

I feel a lot better than I did, not nearly so groggy and foggy, not yet full of energy, but it's deffo worth sticking it out.

I feel less bloated, and have lost a few lbs, but I have stones to lose, will weight loss continue if I carry on with LCFF or, will I have to tweek again?

I'd get through the carb flu first, you should be starting to feel better, add a teaspoon of salt and drink lots
I'd look at tweaks in a month or so..it's all a learning curve

The water thing I need to make more of an effort with, and exercise, gulp!!! I am definitely not nearly so sluggish which is a great first step :)

I wouldn't worry about exercise yet, I lost 10kg sitting in an arm chair
most T2's when diagnosed aren't up to exercising much, if your knees and hips are ok, go for a half hour walk 3x a week, or walk in a swimming pool

Agree with @jack412. Exercise is relative. You can do more harm overdoing it than taking it easy to start with. And become discouraged.
But ...
one has to start! And persevere!

A good start! Start some walking and give yourself credit for every step. I bought a pedometer and found it very motivating.

Just start to park a bit further from your target destination. In supermarket car parks, that can also help with parking "dings". Win/win, eh?

Thank you - it's a beautiful day today here today so I'm going a walk after lunch, nothing strenuous, but the fresh air will be nice and Rufus the mad spaniel will love it :)

Don't get me started, 2 cars in the car park hers and mine, and she still reversed into mine. Took me a week to track her down, but I did!! She had no intentions of coming clean not until she found out I saw it all on CCTV ;)

Hope my photo comes up, this is where I got to today, fab walk really enjoyed it image.jpg

Well done MissPooh :) I'm still going great guns too...my blurred close up vision is all but gone :) very happy here on my LCHF diet. I made the steak and kidney pie from the Eat Fat book..without the kidney or the pie :D it was probably the best stew I've had (put some mushrooms in, leave out the cornflour and simmer for 2 1/2 hours...served with cauliflower and broccoli)

It's a great book isn't it Tm6t7. I made the chicken Kievs, absolutely gorge.
As sad as it may seem I'm really quite enjoying my food, no great desire for chips, pots or rice.
I'm really pleased to hear you're doing so well, and feeling the benefits too, makes it worth while :).
I know I've lost weight although I'm not sure exactly how much, my scales are a bit iffy, but my clothes feel much more comfortable :angelic:
