I know this is a diabetes forum but this gal works for Dexcom who makes an amazing continuous Glucose Monitor. Those of you who use this device know, Dex went through an odd thing in which you could not get help on the phone. If your battery is out, good luck, speakers are broken, oh heck, cgm won't read...we would be on hold, even at 3:00 am, for an hour and forty-five minutes. I was with Dexcom way before they did this weirdness and I had connects. Vanessa Bobo was one of them. She left for a bit to have an adorable son about a year ago. When she returned to Dex, she was no longer my Rep. She was, however, my friend and she and I used to email silly things, cool Walking Dead items I found, pictures of her sons, chatting about the world. I was supposed to get a new CGM. UnitedHealthcare changed my procedure for getting my stuff. I am no longer allowed to get my supplies directly from Dexcom. I have to use an amusing and frustrating place that will only send me 1 box of supplies along with a ton of paperwork I have to return to them. I kept calling asking where is my monitor? They kept telling me Dexcom has it and we are waiting on them. My Rep at that time still to this day has never returned my email. He returned one email when I cc'd my husband in Engineering. I did not get my monitor tho, I just got an email saying he got my email. Great. So, I emailed Vanessa. She found my order and within 1 week, I had my new monitor. Then, the speakers and alerts did not work, known issue. Again, my Rep still has not attended to this. I emailed Vanessa again. Again, she got my stuff right away.
Vanessa was ONE of the Dexcom people who cared about Diabetics. She would always ask my husband about me when they were in the same area. I just found out, one of her kids has diabetes.
She was murdered last night by her fiancee. I am shocked. When she and I would discuss life, she sounded like any other young lady trying to survive a relationship. At the Dexcom Christmas Parties, she was one of the only folks I would hang out with.
I will miss my friend and I hope her children can recover. Here is the news link:
