I am so happy to find out last Friday for the second consecutive time my A1C is at 5.2. It was 9% percent when I was first diagnosed 3 years ago. I was on medication(500 Met twice a day) to bring it down to 5.6 then reduced the dosage to once a day with a meal. My readings every 3 months ranged from 5 to 5.7 the following year. Exercised 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer 4 or 5 times in a week. I got tested every 3 months until I changed my address to another State because of my New job. There were work related stressful times and I totally stopped exercising. I still work in an office environment which is sedentary and very bad. I knew not exercising and the stress could affect my readings but took the risk. All this time I was taking my med once a day but totally changed my diet. I totally stopped eating whole grain but amped up more greens in my diet. instead of the elliptical trainer I swapped exercising for brisk walking but not for long. Which lasted once or twice a week. I took the test and I found out 3 months ago that my A1C was 5.2. My doctor advised me to stop taking medication. It’s been a very stressful days since then. Car troubles, bills, work, depression and so on. I even stopped exercising at some point. I thought all this could spike my result but to my surprise 3 months after it remains 5.2. I was so surprised. I am so exited! My prayers are answered. He listened to my prayers. Anyways, if there is any culprit in my diet it’s whole grain and my diabetes is under control with a simple change of diet. It worked for me. Maybe it works for you too. Totally eliminate whole grains and eat Avocados, berries and nuts. Include more Kale and spinach in your diet. Don’t be afraid of organic butter(helps to absorb minerals and vitamins). Reduce red meat. Drink water and decaffeinated black/green tea. No sugar free diet sodas. No low fat yogurt. I prefer cheese. Love olive oil. Don’t be tempted and cheat ‘cause it becomes a habit.
