Hi, I've recently started having issues with my night time insulin.

I'll typically do my long lasting injection at 10pm, When my blood reading is around 8 mmol. I tend to have a hypo, at around midnight with my bloods touching 3 mmol however but by the time I wake up around 7-8 am my bloods are typically anywhere from 12-18 mmol.

How can I go around lowering my morning reading, without sending myself too low overnight? Thanks

@Haakerhino how do you know you are having the hypo?
If you are relying on Libre, the low could be a compression low and should be checked with a finger prick.

The other thing to consider is taking your basal earlier. The profile of Abalgasar is not completely flat - there is a spike at about 5 hours. If you take it earlier, the spike is more likely to occur whilst you are awake.

Or to take the earlier idea to its extreme, split the dose and take ~1/2 in the morning and ~1/2 in the evening, then you can tune the behaviour a bit more. This is what I ended up doing as I would run low overnight, though I wouldn't then go high unless I overtreated the hypo(s). The going high in the morning might be dawn effect, so you may end up needing to trend down overnight to avoid being too high in the morning.
