They wouldnt do a prick test after the two hours as they said they arent allowed to give results so i've got an appointment booked for next friday to get the results (if they are back by then).My readings are higher than normal, I'm about 3 and a half stone overweight and my nan had diabetes, as does my uncle. My mum also had gestational diabetes (not sure if that was with me or one of my sisters). I MOSTLY low carb anyway, which i'm starting to think is what may have prevented it all being worse than it is.I'm annoyed that i didnt get a result today, as this has been going on for a good few weeks now and i thought that i'd get the 2nd reading and would have an idea of where i am.but, basically, I'd like to get a blood tester and strips and test it myself until next week. is this a bad idea?</blockquote>
