Abscess from pump site?

Have a large abscess from a pump site I took out which then got infected (or was already infected when infusion set was in me?), but now is a big painful welt that us slightly discolored, kind of lighter in muddle, but not really white. Am assuming this is pus? My concern is that while the infusion set (needle) was in me for 3 days and the reaction/scar tissue was forming, that I didn't receive my insulin/that it didn't get ABSORBED for 3 days and just POOLED under skin?! Has this ever happened to you? Could it happen? Then my CONCERN is that when I get it drained at Dr.s tom, that if there was insulin under the welt that the draining might aggravate it and it'll be RE-ABSORBED onto my skin/system and cause EXTREME, UNTREATABLE LOW sugar?!! HAS anyone had this welt happen and had it drained and.there was no insulin underneath from buildup in scar tissue?!! Am VERY nervous to have it drained for this reason.

Please seek medical help for your abcess, this may be quite urgent!

This is happening to me from a pump site I had on a few days ago that got infected. Did you ever get this checked out and what was it? I'm not sure if I should be worried because mine is starting to have a purple tint around it too.

Hi @alyssaStephey & welcome to the forum :)

You’ve posted on an old thread and the OP hast been back since posting so you probably won’t get a reply from them. Have you had it checked out at your GP? If not then it may be best to as any infections can turn nasty quickly

Please have this checked out.
If a site from a few days ago has gotten infected and it isn't getting better but seemingly getting worse, with now the purple tint around it, it may be you need antibiotics.
