Really odd question , does anybody else inject in their arm ? I'm on Insuman and Novorapid , my absorption when I take my novorapid into my tummy seems to be pants , waiting hours , however a few times I've tried it in my upper arm , and within minutes can feel the affect!
Never used my arms. DSN said I don't have enough fat (I'm sure there's a complement from her there somewhere!) she said if I were to inject into arm is probably hit muscle and hence use the insulin too quickly..... Or something like that!
There was a post about the finger blood test recently. The OP asked about taking blood samples from anywhere else but the fingers. A reply said that you could take blood from anywhere but if from the stomach or elsewhere it might show how things were some 20 minutes ago.
I suppose that the arm or fingers has a more immediate effect on things to do with circulation.

I find using my tummy it can take 2.5 to 3 hours for full onset of my porcine insulin to work .
DSN explained to me my legs/thighs/arms/bottom are NOT an option for me as I am too tiny
with no fat only pure muscle .
The onset time into these muscle only areas would be less than an hour !
My tummy is the ONLY area on me that has 'any' fat to fold and do an injection into .
Hence why it is the only area I can do my insulin injections into ...
Another thing I have found is in the warm 'summer' weather I do absorb my insulin
far faster than any other time of the year .

But, fat and scar tissue slow absorption. If you exercise the area or if you hit muscle it can speed absorption. A hot bath can also speed absorption because heat makes the blood vessels wider.

 Oooh Interesting - I will tackle my DSN about this one .
Well remember her saying my legs, thighs, arms n bum NOT being an option for me .
Far too skinny and NO fat at all on these area's
It is literally skin over bones and muscles .
