Hello

I've just got this meter and absolutely love it. Finding it really useful to helping me control my BG.

I just have a few queries that I don't find particular clear guidance in the manual and was wondering if anyone could give a little guidance on from their experience?

- Bolus Advice - all pretty clear except for snack size. Is this essentially the amount normally considered an insulin free snack? If so, when I enter 1CP(10g) amount the meter would not advise any insulin, except for any required adjustment/correction? However if at a meal, it wouldn't ignore 1CP of the total meal value would it?

- second thing is how does one work out what their meal rise is to populate that field correctly?

- finally - do people use it like an electronic diary? Do you complete insulin free snacks? Do people retrospectively use the machine for adding data when separated from the machine eg. Adding a meal and Bolus dose you may have had when out and about and without the machine?

Thanks very much for your help.

I'd be interested in other people's responses to this as well.

I don't understand the "snack size" parameter either.

I used the meter religiously for about 2 weeks but then began to find it a real chore entering everything into it. I felt a bit like one of those teenagers who's always playing with their phone. That as well as the fact that the darn thing is so bulky to carry round! I now keep mine by my bed and use it simply as a meter.

I'd been working out my own doses for a while before I got the meter so I didn't find it particularly helpful, but was given it so I could get used to it as when my current pump expires I will probably be given the AccuChek Combo, for which the expert meter doubles as a remote control.
