Type 2 Accu-Check Aviva Test Strip Dating

Hello Forum,

If my Accu-Check Aviva test strips are still being accepted by my glucometer, will I still get accurate readings?

Once I accidentally put a way out of date strip in and the meter gave me an error code, can't remember exactly what it was.

Now I have some strips left that are a year out of date and my monitor is still accepting them and giving me a reading.

I did however, go to the pharmacy 'today' and got a fresh prescription.

Put it this way I recently used some that are 3 years out of date and they compared within tolerance to my contour meter

So I would say use them but if you don’t feel the reading is right confirm it with an Indate strip

My Accu-check Nano didn’t appreciate the out of date strip I inadvertently fed it with!!

I’ve just opened a new box dated 31/07/18

And can confirm they are ok
