Hi All .

Anyone got/familar with using an roche - accucheck Expert meter ?
How do you find it ?

Am still getting to grips with mine :problem:
Just got it yesterday .

There is always something new to learn :)

Does it test for keytones as well as blood sugars ?

Thanks Anna .

I've had mine for about a year what a help its been for me once its set up for you it's great tells you how much insulin is still working so has saved me from going hypo a lot ask for the Bluetooth for downloading onto your pc as its also great I email my nurse if I have an issue I can't work out , go on to their web as they give you free battery's for it once registered ! And play with it it will give you charts to look at on the device as to how you are doing I'm doing 40 - 50 tests a week been diabetic 30 years and its one of the best ones I've had ! ! Hope all goes good for you , keith

I should be getting one soon. DSN said I would need a training day with it!
Did you have to have training?

I have a roche rep coming to see both myself and my DSN, they will train me and my DSN up ' properly ' .
Up till now I have actually sussed quite a lot of it on my own via the users manual .
Had a brew and sat down worked a lot of it out step by step till it clicked in with my head :P

Have to say - I am VERY impressed with it too .
It has everything except being a keytone tester included .
Such a pity they didn't think of this whilst designing it :(
It would have had the full works, kit and caboodle then .

It is very well designed and does " many useful things " with a really clear screen and great symbols
that steer and guide along very easily .
Includes a great correct warning guide to do insulin units, test for keytones and test regularly if over
own acceptable preprogrammed hyper limits .
Also alerts for/to action needed for any hypo's risk too .
All easily accessible and understandable to use within a daily BG testing and insulin user routine .

It's ACE I 'love' it actually
Am both truly convinced and converted now .

That's good! I email my clinic today to see when I might get mine. Hopefully I will here tomorrow as I am at the clinic to get my cgms taken off and results.

What test strips does it use?

I had that one prior to having my pump to get used to it prior to having the bluetooth version. I think it is the best once I've had so far. Very consistent readings with how I feel. The ability to input % reductions for activity is great as you can try 10% reduction and if roo much/little try a different one for that activity next time. Once ratios are correctly set automatically gives suggested bolus depending on current level to avoid highs/lows. Good clear screen to view. Like u wish it tested for ketones too. Overall best monitor I've used so far and I've used a few lol
