This afternoon, in Boots, looking for something else, my eye was caught by some larger, front of shelf messaging, "20% Off" (or something).

Anyway, the offer is on all Accu-Check supplies - meters, strips and lancets. I was astonished to see diabetes supplies on offer.

I'm just mentioning it for anyone who is an Accu-Check user, and could pick up some discounted supplies.

Roger, over and out. :)

Thanks for the heads up, but as they normally charge £29+ for 50 test strips I'm not sure 20% off will make a huge difference. E-Bay is still the best source IMHO

You should get them VAT free if you're diabetic, so that may make it a better offer.

Our local pharmacy (attached to Surgery so pretty small) has occasionally had meters, strips etc on sale. I think they were also Accu-Chek - not my brand, so I didn't investigate further, but I did wonder if the strips had a shortish remaining shelf life.

How do you get boots to take the tax off? I'm just wondering as thinking of buying some strips while Self testing, so as to stick up.

Haven't tried any other meters yet, new-ish and still learning

@wookie101 : Just let them know you're a diabetic and they'll give you an exemption form to fill in.

But if cost is a concern take a look through the forum for information about the Codefree brand meter which you can buy online - their test strips are very much cheaper than other brands and there's often discount codes available if you buy in quantity.
