Hi,

I've been testing for about six months now at varying levels with my Accu-Chek Compact Plus. It's the one that takes a drum of 17 strips. I've had very consistent results and have been quite happy with it, after my initial period of getting used to it. I paid for it myself and have to by my own drums of strips (although they are expensive).

Last week I had a problem in that some of the strips (4 or 5 at least) just didn't want to "suck up" the blood, despite me getting plenty of it coming out after the first issue. Well in date and from Boots.

I phoned Accu-Chek (tried emailing first but that was taking too long) and they couldn't have been more helpful. They are sending a new meter even though I told them I thought it was just this drum, and a new drum of strips has already arrived. They've also sent a bag, postage label and instructions for returning the meter so they can have a look at it.

Very impressive customer service IMHO and good to know they have such a good "customer service" attitude.

I know you'll say its a competitive market place and that's undoubtably true. It may also be that other meter companies are just as good. Nonetheless, compared to the attitude I've had recently from other "consumer" companies in competitive markets (don't start ye on BSkyB!), this is extremely welcome.

Hi Dougie

Doug
