The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared Roche's ACCU-CHEK Inform II system, a next-generation blood glucose monitor for hospital point-of-care testing, it offers the first truly wireless hospital blood glucose device and enables automatic real-time wireless transfer of patient data between hospital medical staff and the laboratory.

All very ho hum but what is intriguing is the reference to better accuracy... not qualified but this makes me suspicious... how accurate do we need? And how inaccurate were they before... and these are going to be higher spec because they are more expensive and for professionals... maybe looking on the bright side the portable cheaper ones we use will be more accurate, reliable and reproducible in time...

Roche Diagnostics: “ACCU-CHEK systems have been proven in hospitals around the world and this next-generation wireless system sets a new standard by offering US healthcare professionals new capabilities to help ensure the accuracy of test results, streamline data communications and provide optimal patient care.”

What does "help" mean in this context? Durh... more yuckspeak. 8)
