Accu Chek Insight Pump

Hi, I am new to the forum, off to see the consultant tomorrow about going on to a pump, as my liver keeps pushing out sugar in the mornings, bit nervous about this being attached 24/7, are they painful to insert? Was thinking of Accu Chek as I like using their meters any advice would be great thanks

Am quite new to pumping, and I'm beyond happy with it. I'm on the Accuchek Insight, and love it.

I got used to the 'being attached' thing very quickly, and have no discomfort with inserting cannulas.

Same here. I started on the insight 8 months ago and love it. No issues with cannulas (the inserter makes it really easy to do), and being attached is pretty easy to get on with. Just have some options for where to wear it ☺
 
Woops my post is a bit late but here's my input:
Got my insight pump 11 months ago now and I must say it is excellent and has really helped to improve my control :D It's not bulky so it's quite easy just to slip it in your pocket or wherever you need to put it and forget about it because the handset you get with it is connected to the pump via bluetooth so you can administer boluses and everything from the handset so you rarely need to take the pump out of your pocket except for the obvious reasons such as changing infusion sets etc. The infusion sets are easy to insert as it comes with an insertion device to attach the canulas to yourself but you can also do it manually if you prefer to do that :)
There is one tiny issue in that the cartridge for the Insight pump only holds 150 units of insulin and I find myself inserting new cartridges every few days but that is probably due to my basal rate and how much insulin I take so other people like yourself might not have an issue with this. The handset will remind you to retest I think it's 5 minutes after a hypo and 2 hours after a hyper so that you can see if you have managed to treat each correctly which is helpful as I often forget.
Overall I think it's a great piece of equipment and if you get the opportunity to have one I say go for it :D Good luck with whatever it is you decide to go with and I hope it sorts out your morning spikes!
 
as all said above, the only small niggle issometimes the handset runs a little slow but if you hold the power button for a few seconds it will reboot and speed up a little
