Chips would do that to me too. With sausages, it's tricky as they can have of carbs added as fillers. Cutting down on sugar did nothing for me. It was all the carbs as a potato and pasta lover.
I use Accu-Chek Mobile and I can judge how much blood I need now. I do need less than I did a couple of weeks ago, now that I've got the knack of bringing the meter down to the blood drop, rather than touching it with the blood covered finger. If you do touch it a bit much with your skin, the reading can go higher than it really is.
I prefer the mobile version to having to find somewhere to dispose of used lancets etc when out. I have started testing before eating out, so I know roughly how much in the way of carbs I can have. Usually not much.
