I'm travelling to Spain tomorrow and I am camping at a festival so I expect the tent to be extremely warm. They have on site facilities to keep medication in the fridge so I'll be putting my insulin in there, but can the test strips be kept in the fridge also?

The temperature of them can't exceed 30 degrees or go below 2 but has anybody stored them in the fridge before?

Hi,

I use the Accu Chek mobile with cassettes.. No need keep them in the fridge.
Though in a sealed container my concern would be potential moisture in the cassette from an extreme change of environment may cause the cassette to stick & malfunction?
(Think of the old car stereo cassettes jamming up back in the day?)
Just keep em out of direct sunlight. If "onsite facilities" has a cupboard? They could safekeep the spare there?

Hope this helps!
Have a great time.

With more notice, I would recommend Frio wallets. I have used these camping and walking in some very hot places (e.g. walking up Mount Roraima in Venezuela).
I always feel nervous giving my insulin to someone else to take responsibility for it.
However, I am just pessimistic and I expect you will be fine.

Have an amazing time in Spain.
