After having diabetes for nearly 10 years, during which time it was not well controlled. I started insulin injections about five years ago. I was put on Actos 30 mg about one year ago. It worked very well and kept my blood sugar under control. But eventually caused a lot of hypoglycaemia. I am now on 15 mg Actos once daily, I also take metformin and januvia. My blood sugar is now very well controlled, probably the first time in 10 years. Unfortunately, I have put on far too much weight and I am scared of the long term effects of Actos, I have expressed these concerns to my doctor (endocrinologist)) but he insists that I stay on actors and will not change this medication. Any advice would be appreciated
