I am type 1 on a pump so most of my diabetes care is handled by the pump clinic, and I am due to see them early in the new year. I do however agree to the GP 'diabetic review' with the practice nurse because I understand they have certain targets and it is not a hassle for me to do it as my GP surgery is next door to my work.

Well I have an appointment for Thursday morning and I'm a little excited, I embraced low carb a couple of months ago, I have been actually making small steps towards more exercise and my BG's on my meter and libre are the best they have ever been so really I'm just hoping for a new personal best HbA1c since i have pretty much always struggled with control! I am a little worried I will be disappointed though if it doesn't come back in the area I'm hoping for. I know it hasn't been a full 3 months yet of the changes I have made and that really my next pump clinic will be more informative as can look at all my downloads etc then but hoping this will keep me motivated in the meantime!

Hi @jodysd6

that is fantastic news on the gains made in your control and hope it goes well for you on the A1c results tomorrow.
:)

keep us all posted please !!

all the best !

Try not to worry as I'm sure all will be well @jodysd6, I believe the HbA1c result is more heavily influenced by bg control over the previous 6-8 weeks than 10-12.

Keep motivated :)

Well I did get a PB, though now I have adjusted my expectations I am still wanting it to come down quite a bit more but I am now at 48/6.5% which is my best ever and at least going the right way, I am aiming for less than 6.0 or 42 in the next few months though looking at the results I am seeing at the moment!

Apparently though I will get to find out if I can get it any lower soon since despite them asking me in for an annual review in November she said today they will ask again in January because of a new system and when my birthday falls!

Well done @jodysd6 :)

They do normally request a 3 month gap between HbA1c testing.

I normally get the 3 month or thereabout A1c, it's more that they want to do the full review again in January!
