Acute shortage of GLIPIZIDE

New to the Forum although being type 2 for around 7 years. Medication has been Glipizide in all those years starting with 2.5mg per day rising to 10mg of late.
Our pharmacist has told the GP that Glipizide is no longer available (might be in 3 months time) so she has prescribed 100mg of JANUVIA which I've used for the last 5days without any side effects yet. Problem is my level is consistently 9 to 11 on the Richter scale and refuses to decrease.
Anyone else suffering from lack of Glipizide? if so what alternative was prescribed?
Thanks Mike

I have been given 80mg of Gliclazide until the Glipazide comes back. However the side effects are a nightmare will give it to next week then back to gp to come off them. Would rather have cupa soup for my meals than the side effects.

Hope they are back soon and it raises my count instead of decreasing.

I'm told it may be 3 months before Glipizide is available so I've been switched to 100mg Januvia. So far so good but it's only been three weeks. No side effects either. Good luck!
