I have a new meter but how do I change my prescription to get rid of my old test strips and add my new test strips to it!? Help

Adding new test strips to prescription

Just changed mine over to a new meter and was told I needed to speak to a doctor. Which I did and she did not have a clue about the pip codes or which meter was which, ended up with the old test strips and the wrong new ones. Then they removed all test strips from my repeat as type 2 don't need to test 
.
In the end I just sent them a letter asking for the correct test strips to be added giving the make and model of the meter with the pip code qty I would like added and justification of why I needed to test, on new meds that reduce BS levels and DVLA guide lines which then worked.
