Hi all
My Mum was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about six months ago and I joined both Diabetes UK and the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation after trawling the net.
I think it is important to get hold of all of the information you can especially for someone who is newly diagnosed and I was worried about her.
Just wanted to emphasise that the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation have been so helpful both over the phone and through the monthly newsletter they send to their members. You can join online at their website http://www.drwf.org.uk by calling them or downloading the subscription form under the 'Wellness Network' section.
They may be a smaller charity but I found them them to be personal, efficient and allayed all of my fears. Just wanted to spread the word to give them a go, it's not only the bigger concerns that can make a difference!
