Hello
My husband has type one and is on insulin. He has been on this for 18 months now. He has never had a hypo and does a lot of driving as part if his job as a manager.

We have jut had medicals to allow us to adopt and the adoption doctor has asked us to provide details for her to contact the diabetic consultant with further questions. Should we be worried?

I don't have a magic answer....but what you are doing is wonderful and I have met parents with either one or both parents with a diabetic problem.....wishing you all the best hope everything works out for you best wishes Kat x

Hi Abe,

Anyone with a chronic condition will need a consultant"s report if applying to adopt. It is normal procedure.

There is a girl on another forum who has Type1. She recently adopted a baby and the process took nearly 2 years, nothing to do with her diabetes I know the present Govt. are saying that they are going to speed up the process.

Hope all goes well and really admire anyone who adopts or fosters.
