... I'm heading to Disneyland Paris in a couple of weeks, booked before I was diagnosed. We're in effect trapped at Disneyland, don't have a car. Looking at the food menus I'm wondering what I can eat!! Am I right to assume that as I'll be walking around a great deal that the extra exercise might allow for a little more carbs?

I may sound tight saying this, but when we went to Disneyland Paris, we used to get our lunch from the breakfast buffet (tip take some plastic bags with you). There are lots of cold meats and cheese (low carb), yoghurts etc. There is a McDonalds there too and you could get a salad, or eat the burgers without the bun.

Unless you are going there for weeks ... then doing this for a couple of days won't be too bad.

Never been to Disneyland, but these places normally have salads which you can chuck your steak, burger or chicken on. Watch the batter of course-I peel it off things like fish and chicken. You'll get by. And heresy, but yes, a LOT of walking let's me have a FEW extra carbs; just don't abuse it.

When we went with our children and grandchildren we were staying in a self catering lodge (actually a caravan but they like to exaggerate), we took a picnic with us. You can't eat it within the park but you can get a pass out. We then stayed until evening and ate in one of the restaurants outside the park for dinner. There's a variety, we did choose one of those with a traditional French menu rather than 'fast food'. We then went back in for the fireworks. As you're doing a lot of walking and standing around you may find that you don't have many glucose problems. (I'm a T1 and I actually took a lot of care to keep my glucose levels up . I had had a previous experience where I had a horrid hypo at Legoland whilst in a queue with a two year old and no-one else to take over)

Thanks, Unfortunately I can't eat cheese (whole other dietary issue!), and even most of the salads seem to be '3 cheese' so I'm scrabbling around looking for options! breakfast should be fine so hopefully that will get me through the day. Unfortunately my partner is vegetarian so that limits choices even more!!
