My partner is diabetic, he was checking his bloods. So decided to do mine...was this morning, so not eaten or drunk anything since 10pm night before and my reading came back as 9.8....?? He is saying that's too high for a non diabetic? But I feel fine, is it something to be concerned about?

Hi @Sunshine100 , welcome to the forum!

I'd first retest with clean hands to make sure it wasn't a faulty reading.
But yes, if you get a similar result I'd make an appointment with your GP for bloodwork to see what's going on.

Good luck, fingers crossed it was a rogue reading!

Yes, worth checking again as that is high. Worth noting that many type 2 diabetics like myself didn’t have any symptoms before diagnosis, so seeing your doctor for a blood test is the best way to find out for sure.

Thank you, I have been exceptionally tired and alot dizzy spells but to be honest just put it down alot going on and just brushed it off. Thank you for your reply.

Yes, get it checked. I wouldn't panic - if I've been feeling even slightly ill that can elevate my BGs. Also many people have high readings in the morning. And it could be a rogue result anyway.
