Hey everyone just looking for a bit of advice not checked my blood sugars for 3 or 4 days! Tested tonight when I got in from work and they were 3.4! Really tested my bg again now 2 hours after eating and they are 4.6 I'm type two diabetic diet controlled! Being on a low carb diet for the last 2 months! Also had my ramapril dosage increased last week for my blood pressure from 2.5 to 5mg! Not sure if they have an effect on blood sugar!

Hello,

I'm not a T2 but I see you've not had a reply yet.

Low carb diets can have dramatic effects on lowering BGL, and even more so when coupled with an increase in exercise.

As for your medications, I have no idea... But I have found another forum thread wrt the same medication (albeit with "raising BGL; but there are also discussions about its general effects on BGL):

http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/ramipril-raised-glucose-levels.29321/

*Note that I think you may have spelled your medication wrong, I genuinely don't know if there's a difference between Ramipril or Ramapril.

Cheers,
Grant

Your recent readings are those of a non diabetic but I don't suppose you need to told that. Whatever you are doing with your diet it seems to be working well. In my case pills were never effective and so I tend to take them out of the equation.

What would be interesting is if you could say what your readings were before the "3 or 4" days off.
