My Codefree has just arrived.

So... any advice for the best way to approach testing? I'm one of those daft folks that tends to look away when the needle goes in, so...
I'll follow the instructions in the pack, obviously, but any other advice welcome.

No need to look away as you don't see the needle .. Just remember not to pull your finger away before you release the lance... And to wash your finger in clean warm water first. Insert the test strip into the meter .. It should bleep when ready to test .. Get a little blob of blood from your finger and hold the test strip that's in the meter on to the blood. It only takes about 5 sec to give you a reading ... If you test just before you eat ...then 2 hrs after ..you can then see how your sugars are being affected by the food you are eating.

Do let us know how you get on...

Hey CheeseJunkie,

Aim it in the sides of the finger tips rather than the soft pads or tip. Play around with the depth, I have the Codefree too, I set mine to 5 deepest as my fingers are thick skinned from work.

Sometimes you catch a nerve but most of the time you wont even feel it. Take a long slow deep breath in as you release the button.

Soon you'll be like "really, is that it"

:)
