I've tried a few diabetic Meds for type 2 which always upset my stomach
Metformin, bydureon. Doctor has put me on gliclazide after I said I did not wany anything that makes me put on weight, after I had asked for sitagliptin he said that was the last resort before insulin. What's the appinion??
 
You only have the option of what you put in your mouth. If the meds don't work then you will have to look at your diet.
 
I had no idea that sitagliptin was the last option before insulin - now you have me concerned about myself.

I am on Metformin and Sitagliptin is the next step insulin? Can anyone let me know.
 
I am on vildagliptin and have been for 6 years . Diagnosed whilst living in Spain and never ever mentioned that I was one step away from insulin . I think your doctor was trying to put you off as it's quite an expensive medicine in Spain it was 55 euros a month of which I had to pay 40%
