Hi I don’t have diabetes. Advice needed please. in the last year I have been very unwell started with hert palpitations, sudden feeling sick, extremely thirsty when I do a small amount of excersise , Up 3 times a night for toilet. Periods of exteram thirst, feel like my hart is pumping Out of my chest and then have to lie down, random speach problems , wakeing with head aches, constant Pins and needles in legs and feet. and Since Christmas blurred vision that changes hourly ... I decided to buy a blood sugar monitor accu chek from eBay it was giving me readings of 26.5 to 1.1, I Was very unwell . rang my doctor on Monday , she gave me a nexus Rx and took my blood as she didn’t trust mine was correct . In 2 weeks of checking Blood with the nexus I’ve had readings of up to 11.8 and the lowest of 4. 9 . Iv had my blood test back and the doctor said it was normal and no further action needed. My blood is always about 3.9 - 4.0 on a morning before breakfast and then after porridge and sugary tea goes up to 9 or above . I’m asking do u agree with my doctor and maybe I should look elsewhere for answers . I’m desperate to be well again , I’ve gone from being a extremely active person to only a small amount walking each day as it make Me feel so awful. Thanks
Your HbA1c, the test that was done, you really want to know what those numbers were. Maybe call the assistant and get them, or look them up online? A lot of doctors will regard prediabetic numbers as "no further action needed", as they don't start medicating until you're a T2. And I take it you'd want to avoid that diagnosis. The HbA1c, after all, is the average of about 3 months, and when you have lows like you do, they might cancel out the highs some... Keep a food diary, test before a meal and 2 hours after the first bite, and go back to the doc or see someone else. Maybe ask for a referral, because nothing's being done about how you feel right now. And you shouldn't have to live like this without further looking into what may be causing this.Hi I don’t have diabetes. Your HbA1c is 35 (Haemoglobin A1c level- IFCC standardised (XaPbt) ), almost at the bottom. That's in the normal range. Starting at 42 is prediabetes, up to 48, which is the cut-off for diabetes T2. Anything above that are diabetic levels. So while the HbA1c seems normal, you do have issues. Basically... Go back. Get more tests done. If you are not feeling well, a single decent test shouldn't mean that's the end of the road: you need to know what's going on so it can be fixed.
So you tell her you’re testing and the results and she sends you away to test???? CrazyJust sending an update. I have spoken to the diabetic nurse this morning. Told her about my blood going upto 26 and dropping down below 2 and that it seems to happen when After exercise ( horse riding / looking after the horse). If I stay at home and not do much I’ve been getting reading through the day this week that stay between 5.5 and 8, which she said is normal. She told me to test after exercise again and get back in touch if it goes very high or very low.
