Not the best. Can you change to bacon and eggs?Toast or cereal
Thank you, they will ring me tomorrow, fingers crossed I can come off the Pred soonIf you have access to a specialist diabetes nurse get an appointment.
I was left at high teens to twenties for 6 months. Eventually I got 2 types of insulin. I am weaning off the prednisolone, down to 9mg , dropping 1mg a month.
I’ll try anything to get this downNot the best. Can you change to bacon and eggs?
I'd certainly not be adding carbohydrate to steroids.. as @xfieldok says try eggs and bacon as an alternative.I’ll try anything to get this down
https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html This might help...I've gone very low carb (keto actually, being 20 grams of carbs a day or less), and while I have had steroid shots a few times in the interim, they weren't giving me spikes to have to go for insulin to get my blood sugars under control. I saw the odd nine and that was it, remained under the rest of the time. Hope you'll feel better soon!Hi,
I have type 2 Diabetes and have had for roughly 3 years, I take 1g Metformin twice a day. Everything was fine until I was prescribed Prednisolone around 15 months ago, the dosage of steroids has been reduced to 10mg a day And has been for at least 7 months. My BM’s have been really unstable for a number of weeks. When I wake in the morning they are normally around 7mmol, rising to 13-14ish after breakfast and medication, they continue to rise through the day sometimes reaching 24mmol. I feel fine when I wake and then get steadily worse during the day, tingling lips, shaking, tired to the point I need a sleep in the afternoons.
Any advice on what I can do to stabilise the sugars? The steroids are going to be with me for a while yet.
Many thanks in advance
