Hi. Thanks for reading my long thread. I know what carbs are but the NHS says that complex carbs are OK as they're released slowly. Mow I can check for myself I know better. The huge spike is bad and I assume didn't show in my hba1c results. I probably will need meds as long as I'm on steroids (which cause diabetes) thanks to my being prescribed one with a nasty, rare side-effect> was given the meter to monitor my bg maybe because the GP doesn't know what to give me while on the steroids. I have hardly anything that doesn't have carbs right now but am getting yoghourt, berries, eggs, cheese and salmon so can start that for Monday lunch. I have to take steroid tablets with food so I'm wondering what to eat before then. As my bg only rose by 2 mmol 5 hours after the oats maybe I should try that tomorrow?
