I know I'm eating too many carbs but a pure keto diet isn't for me and the steroids I'm on increase bg, can even cause T2 in people. I plan to cut out a lot of carbs but don't have the things I need yet. A dear friend passed away after steroids caused heart problems, T2 diabetes and then heart failure, but he was on them a long time for arthritis. I was given a blistering disease by lipigliptin so meds were stopped. My hba1c was increasing by 1 every three months on lipigliptin and then with no diabetic meds. Steroids are nasty and diabetics are recommended to increase their meds while on them, but I've been on none for the last 4 months and was able to walk 1 km today, the first exercise since I got the blisters. So I'm trying to improve with diet but it's only been a couple of days since I got a meter. The steroids are pushing my bg up along with BP So I probably haven't ordered enough but so far I'm getting yoghurt, berries, cheese, eggs, salad and salmon. Several hours after a (burned) cheese omelette) and salad leaves my BG was 20.4, but I haven't been able to learn the effect of foods before getting the meter. It's very early days Right now I'm beating myself up because my only main meal today has 71 gr of carbs. I have more ordering to do for tomorrow. I hadn't thought of an air fryer but chops and steak sound good, but to expensive to eat every day. Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't want to go pure keto and I doubt I'll see much change for a while after I stop the steroids and don't know if I'll be given a different med soon..
