Advice on my cat?

Any cat owners out there that could help?

My indoor cat has had diarrhoea for 3 days now. She is drinking plenty. Has ate some food but vomited it up undigested soon after.

My wee Tilly is 2 years old. She is so so timid and scared of everyone except me and my hubby. I am so loathe to take her to the vet as it is traumatic for her. The last time we took her she tried so hard to get away bit my husband and the vet.

Is there anything I could try at home first? We haven't changed her food and I don't think she has ate anything she shouldn't have.
 
If she isn't off her food she doesn't feel unwell, maybe it is just a stomach upset. Does she eat any grass being an indoor cat?

Maybe call a vet just for a chat/ opinion, or leave it another day of two to see if it improves? If not may poor Tilly will have to brave a trip.
 
She's just her normal self otherwise. She ate some grass Friday night then no symptoms yesterday but diarrhoea back again today. Feels so cruel taking her to vet but I may brave up too lol! Will let her have more grass and hope and pray it resolves. Eeeeek
 
Might be worth trying her with a bit of beaten raw egg - it has a binding effect and is often helpful.

Has she been wormed recently?

This happened with one of our cats once. We tried several things but in the end it just passed (so to speak) of its own accord - the cause and cure have always remained a mystery. Hope she's better soon.
 

Honestly the best thing would be to take her to the vet, but in the mean time, you could try small amounts of plain fish or chicken. The problem with vomiting is, it dehydrates the body.
Unfortunately some animals are very scared and stressed at going to the vets, but getting her better is the main priority. Is there a number for the vets that you could call for advice?
I have two cats and our animals are part of the family as we love and care for them so much.
I hope she starts to feel better soon, just keep a close eye on her

Thank you everyone. I've called our vet. She thinks it could possibly be a hairball? Tilly hasn't passed one in 6 months so I hope that's what it is. She suggested a gel on her food so will try it. Thanks again everyone.
 
I hope this passes and your cat is ok. Is there something in the environment that is stressing her out/has changed recently? My cat has a horrible habit of excessively licking on particular spot on his chest when he's stressed. Using anti-hairball food would be worth trying, but honestly it would be best if the vet saw her, rather than just a telephone consultation. I understand how this stresses her but is in her best interest in the long run.

Is she an indoor or outdoor cat? If she's an outdoor cat it's possible that she has eaten something outside, especially if there's mice or rats I the area.
 
Cats! Got to love them don't you. I was very much a dog personally till Sassy came along. She is 3/4 ragdoll. Mad as a cut snake!! Not into cuddles or being a lap cat. Dances with me in the kitchen while she does halloween cat impersonations. Attacks ankles when you walk past her. Suns herself at the back door. Sleeps where ever she chooses. Adores guests. Screams for her food (kangaroo mince from Aldi any other she turns her nose up at) Carries her squeaky pig around then dumps it in the bath.

I hope your cat Tilly is doing better and the fur ball treatment has worked. Most of all I hope she brings as much enjoyment and laughter as Sassy does to ours.
 
Tilly is now passing normal motions, no further vomiting and back to her eating. Yay! Thank you all for your advice xxx

So pleased your Tilly is ok now .. was going to suggest if its not fur ball problems (a friends house cat has to take meds to help with fur balls) then you could get your vet to give you a home visit. Tilly may not be as stressed at home and you may be able to hold Tilly while the vet gives her a look over.
