Advice on my new meds

Hi ive just been given alogliptin after having to stop my metformin due to side effects, the leaflet with the alogliptin seems to read that u should take at same time as another diabetes tablet not on its own, im only prescribed this alone, is anyone else on this if so can u clarify if i should be on something else also

Treating type 2 diabetes in patients who cannot control blood sugar levels by diet and exercise alone. It is used along with diet and exercise. It may be used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines.

Alogliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It works by increasing the amount of insulin released by your body and decreasing the amount of sugar made by your body.
